Flex your muscles, not your credit card with Eva Fraser's exercises, says Jodie Jones.
Anti-Ageing Facial Exercises: Eva Fraser. Eva Fraser Let's get this fact out of the way now. Even the best anti-ageing creams and serums will. Flex your muscles, not your credit card with Eva Fraser's exercises, says Jodie Eva Fraser, 80, demonstrates her age-defying facial exercises. Forget Botox: in just 6 days you can get a younger, firmer face naturally. Louise tells us about Eva Fraser and why she believes it works.
The theory is that muscles of the face can be retrained, just like any other muscles, to become firm and strong through structured exercises — tiny movements of the eyebrows, lip corners and jaw. After just a few weeks of regularly exercising, Eva promises your nose-to-mouth lines will lessen, upper cheeks will be lifted and plumped, jawline firmed and eyelids lifted.
Facial exercise expert Eva Fraser, 82, says that wrinkles can be banished by simply exercises everyday, rather than using expensive creams and questionable injections. Eva learned about facial fitness in thes from a former ballerina based in Germany, who worked with a doctor to devise the system.
She was so impressed with the results that she started her own studio in the UK. They then go away and practise at home — 15 minutes per day, four days a week — and return after a few weeks for a second lesson that teaches them more complex exercises. It certainly makes sense that if you can tighten up a wobbly tummy, bottom and thighs through targeted muscle-toning exercises, you should be able to strengthen facial muscles as they deteriorate with age.
Many experts are encouraging. Eva says she gets referrals from cosmetic surgeons if they feel their clients might benefit before, or even avoid altogether, the need for surgery. Cosmetic dermatologist Dr David Fenton is a fan. Eva has published a book and DVD and has 11 trained teachers around the world.
Carolyne says she is very disciplined about practising her exercises, ten minutes a day, five days a week. My daughters [both in their mids] are fascinated and very keen to learn, too. When Anne was 59 she was involved in a road traffic accident. She says she was delighted to overhear the paramedic describing her as 'about 40'.
That really lifts your self-confidence, which, in turn, shines out of your face. For Anne, the ultimate validation occurred a few years ago when she was caught up in a road traffic accident and got thrown across a bus. As she lay semi-conscious and injured on the floor, she overheard the bus driver talking to paramedics on the phone. Visit: www. Method: Looking straight ahead, stroke your fingers down the length of your neck from beneath your chin, holding your skin firmly on your collarbones.
Stretching your chin slightly forward and up, slide your lower lip up and over your top lip so the front of your neck feels taut. Now slowly smile towards the tops of the ears — upwards and backwards, feeling a lift at the jawline. Hold for a count of ten. Relax slowly, and then repeat. Method: Clench back teeth lightly together and place the sides of your index fingers lightly along your laughter lines.
Now slowly lift your upper cheek muscles using only your nose muscle — lift in six steps in very slow upward move ments. Hold for a count of six, still feeling the muscles working, and lower slowly for a count of six. Then repeat. Method: Place the pads of three fingers of each hand on the brow bone above each eye just beneath your eyebrow with your hands out at degree diagonals to your face.
Holding your fingers firmly against brow bone, blink your eyes six times. Then close your eyes and feel a gentle downward stretch in your eyelids against the resistance of your fingers. Hold this pose for a count of ten seconds. Aim: Stimulates the flow of blood to the facial muscles and skin.
Method: Clasp the top rim of your ears between your fingers and your thumb and lift slightly upwards. Use small rotational movements to massage the area. Move down around the rim of the ear, pulling each ear out gently and massaging with circular movements as you do so, then work your way back up to the top again.
Use the pads of the index fingers to make brisk circular movements over the surface of the ears, massaging all the crevices and spirals. Aim: Smoothes nose to mouth lines. Method: Clench back teeth lightly together and touch your index fingers to your face, just above the corners of your mouth on both sides. Now smile, using the cheek muscles which run from where your fingers are touching towards your temples, letting your lips part as you lift.
Do the movement in six slow steps. Make sure you feel the muscles lift each time. Hold the smile for the count of six, and slowly lower for the count of six. Forget Botox! Share this article Share. Read more: Eva Fraser Facial Fitness.
You repeat the exercises twice and instead of making the second run right they same video is shown again with the incorrect moves in it. I also find Eva's voice unclear and some of the exercises appear samey I think because she doesn't explain what muscle you should be engaging.
This one wil be going in the bin - I've had enough of it. Bad editing is the worst thing with it thought. I bought this in and it's collected dust until 3 weeks ago when I decided to give it a go. I've recently lost 2 stone and my face suffered! I have hooded eyelids, really awful turkey neck, lost fat in my cheeks these were my main concerns dark circles and I always looked tired.
I am painting a terrible picture but at 47 I was very unhappy with my face. Well, I can honestly say I've noticed a difference in just 3 weeks. My face looks fresh, I've lost that tiredness, under eyes are brighter less dark circle, my upper eyelids starting to lift I am developing cheek bones!!!!!
And, my worst bit - turkey neck significant difference. I am shocked but delighted. People used to comment, "You look tired" My mum actually said to me, "I can see a difference in your face, what are you doing? I always thought that screwing and stretching my face would cause wrinkles. But listening to Eva it makes sense to work the muscles. I've taken photos of my neck and will post the progress at the end of a few months.
I have been doing Eva Fraser facial exercises for almost 19 years and I think they are wonderful. They were good but my face just lacked something. Then I tracked down this DVD on amazon. It is different to the original video but I think this one is better. Granted, there are one or two bits in the dvd that probably should have been edited out so it could run more smoothly, but you can always fast forward those bits.
I have seen an improvement in my face and the 'the thing that was lacking' no longer is. If you do these exercises on a regular basis they work. That's it, they do work. Very highly recommended. Must go now, off to do them. I have been using this for four years, I have definitely seen an improvement in the firmness of my face.
I'm 66 years old and a lot of people are surprised , the often say I look in my early fifties, just stick with it, and you'll be glad you did. Bought DVD November and have done the exercises 4 days on 3 days off and have to say although no drastic improvement, It is definitely working, my face feels tighter and can really feel I have done a workout on my face I am not sure I am doing the Turkey neck exercise properly as not sure were your Tongue is supposed to be!!!
Does anyone know?? I also go along with others who say Ava doesn't need to repeat everything twice including mistakes as it makes the DVD very slow!! I have been using Eva's exercises since seeing her promote her book on T.
The exercises on this DVD appear to have been refined and I am now following her new facial exercise regime. The exercises do really help to keep facial muscles toned. No expensive creams can do this! They don't take up much time and are carried out for only four days a week. They really do work and can help you keep a youthful look.
This is a must have DVD for any woman who wants to look good at any age. I have given a 4 star rating but I will return after a couple of months to review as I have only had the DVD for 3 or 4 weeks. The video itself could be better due to the model having to be told how to carry out one of the exercises properly.
I also think the model doesn't always quite get it right which has made me think once or twice if I'm getting it right. However, I do think it takes a wee while to get into things and after that it gets easier. It's a good idea to consult the book too.
I'm sure I will see a difference, but time will tell. So, I will report back once again when I'm feeling and looking 10 years younger!! One person found this helpful. See all reviews.
